Assassin Moon was Triple Edge Studios’ HyperHold debut slot, and it’s still the most solid game in the series in our view. The fruity follow-up from All41 Studios, 6 Tokens of Gold, never achieved the same popularity, and we doubt their latest, Gold Collector HyperHold, will impress most players either. The game is oozing mediocrity from every pore. However, it might appeal to lower risk punters who’re not willing to take on the volatile beasts throning at the top of the mining slot genre.

The medium volatility competes in a different weight class altogether than heavy hitters like Bonanza and Diamond Mine, but a single spin max win of 1,200x your stake still seems too low. Audiovisually, there’s nothing much to be excited about either. If you’re curious about the HyperHold tweaks can always try the demo version first, and then determine whether or not it’s worth your while.

Gold Collector HyperHold Features

The premium symbols are worth up to 15x your stake for 5 on a payline, and you can land a wild that steps in for all regular symbols on the 3 middle reels only. Other than that, you can look forward to the HyperHold Streak Respins, as well as a bonus round with a guaranteed HyperHold trigger.

The golden cash coin symbol is what you need to trigger the HyperHold feature, and at least 3 anywhere on the same spin does the trick.

You start with 3 respins per reel, and new cash coins that land become sticky and reset the respective reel’s respin tally to 3 again. The feature ends when you run out of respins, or if all possible reel positions are filled with cash coins. Each reel is also assigned with a specific jackpot, and filling the whole reel with sticky coins awards the jackpot prize as follows:

Review Summary

Striking gold in the overcrowded mining genre is far from easy, and All41 Studios’ effort, Gold Collector HyperHold, is bound to fall short. The cartoonish visuals are uninspired, and the game lacks personality overall. Perhaps if this was released 10 years ago it would have made a dent, but it cannot even compare to the likes of Fire in the Hole xBomb or Diamond Mine Megaways.

At least the trademarked HyperHold feature has been tweaked a bit in this game, making the Streak Respins feature somewhat unique. However, getting progressively fewer reels to respin is not really a good thing, and you know up front whether or not you have a shot at the big jackpot. This takes away some of the excitement, although you will usually get a couple of attempts during the bonus round.
